I DOUBT I have ever felt more angry than I do right now, since hearing about the raids on so-called animal rights extremists.
The late Tony Banks MP must be spinning in his grave at the hypocrisy of Blair's Government. How can it put extreme measures into place to outlaw animals rights, while allowing the upper echelons in our society to ride rough-shod over the law?
I might not have minded as much if hunt extremists were given the same treatment, but they are seen to get away with beating up and intimidating hunt monitors, as well as blatantly torturing foxes and deer as before.
I do not condone any law-breaking - I believe the pen is mightier than the sword.
But I wonder how long it will be before people like myself (who speak out against animal cruelty) become the victims of a dawn raid?
It would seem my fear of a dictatorship in Britain has already arrived.
I don't believe those animal rights people victimised by the Kent police are the enemy we need to fear, but the power crazy politicians and police departments that conveniently turn a blind eye to animals abusers.
But anyone who starts to win out for animals are immediately stomped on. Being cruel to an animal is considered unimportant, the penalties for abusing them are a joke.
Just this morning I read in my VIVA magazine how activists attending a market as part of their “Dark side of dairy” expose were confronted by breaches of the law.

A mothers love for her calf should not be denied
What they saw were cows in stalls with painful udders distending and leaking milk. One cow had just given birth and was licking her calf, but was removed and paraded in the ring to be sold with the placenta still hanging out of her vagina.
Another cow had given birth overnight. The calves of both these cows would almost certainly have been killed. The men convicted of cruelty in this case were fined just £2,000.
Whenever I read about such atrocities, I fantasize about being filthy rich and how good it would be to rescue animals in distress and to give them their lives back.
It makes me cry to think of the suffering to animals for what is essentially a meat product that we just don't need.
But animal suffering is low priority to most people, which is why governments try to capitalise by putting out bad publicity.
Their aim being to vilify all those (myself included) that want to see animals treated with respect. It's obvious why! Anyone threatening big business have to be demonised.
There seems to be no end of companies exploiting animals. Even Sony was in the news last week for using a freshly slaughtered decapitated goat to advertise their latest sick video game.
Just when I think I've seen and heard it all, something new and horrific comes to light. Even the RSPCA are morally defunct for giving credence to factory farming. It all makes me wonder how much lower the human race can stoop.
In the words of Nick Kershaw's hit song, I don't wanna be here no more!
